Strabane Community Project

Hello and welcome to Strabane community project.

This organisation has been setup to help local people in need and in a crisis. When you feel you have no one to turn to, you have us!

The Trussell Trust is a Christian based Charity founded in 1997 by Carol and Paddy Henderson based on a legacy left by Carols mother Betty Trussell to help “forgotten people.”

There’s something very simple and yet very powerful about what the Food Bank is doing. It has identified a clear need amongst society that people are struggling. The Food Bank responds in an effective simple and practical way.

The Food Bank is willing to help anyone in need, irrespective of their background or beliefs. The reason people need help are varied, but the most common is because of delays and changes in circumstances to their benefit claims and low income.

Strabane Area Food Bank

In August 2013 Strabane Community Project opened the North West’s first Food Bank, supported by the Trussell Trust.

Luncheon Club

The luncheon club provides a range of trips and outings whilst also organising a monthly social tea dance.

Throughout the year we have different services and companies come in and talk with our service users.

This service offers older people extra help with essential safety and security measures. There are many different types of jobs the handy-van role carries out. The list below is only an example of some of the jobs carried out.
